Privacy and your data

Dimts hears your business calls, so you should know exactly what it keeps, who can see it and how to get rid of it. Here are the answers people ask us most.

Updated October 2026. This page is a plain-language summary. The full privacy policy and terms are what apply.

What Dimts records

Only calls made or received through your Dimts number. It does not listen to your phone in the background and does not read your other calls, texts or contacts. On recorded calls, everyone hears this first: "This call is recorded and summarized by Dimts AI." On Gulf, German and Austrian numbers, both people press 1 to agree, and the call is not recorded if either declines.

From each recorded call Dimts keeps the audio, a transcript, the AI notes, and a contact entry (phone number, plus a name and company if they were said on the call).

Who can see it

How it is protected

Is my data used to train AI?

No. Dimts does not train AI models on your calls, does not sell your data and does not use it for advertising. We do not identify people by their voice. Our transcription and AI providers process call audio and text only to return a result to us, and may not use them to train their models. Unless a zero-retention agreement is in place, a provider may keep them for a limited time (typically up to 30 days) to detect abuse, and then deletes them. When you ask a question about your calls, the answer is returned and then discarded; we do not store the question.

Where it lives

Account data, notes and call audio are stored in the European Union, and the app runs in Frankfurt. Calls are connected by Telnyx in the United States, and some AI providers process data in the United States under Standard Contractual Clauses. Recordings are held at Telnyx only until they are copied to our EU storage, then deleted there.

Getting your data out, or deleting it

If someone you called asks about their data

For the people you speak with, you decide to record them, so you are responsible for doing it lawfully, and Dimts processes their data only on your instructions. They can ask for their call data to be deleted on the privacy request page. You are notified in the app and must act within 30 days. See our guides to US state laws and UK, EU and Gulf laws.

Questions

Does Dimts record calls I make on my normal phone line?

No. Only calls made or received through your Dimts number. Your regular calls, texts and contacts are never accessed.

Can Dimts staff listen to my calls?

No. Our support tools do not show calls, transcripts, notes or contacts, and any time staff look at your account details is logged and visible to you.

Do you sell my data or show me ads?

No. We do not sell data or use it for advertising.

Can I stop recording a particular caller?

Yes, for incoming calls. You can choose per caller whether their calls are recorded, or record only the callers you pick.

Is Dimts GDPR compliant?

We built it around GDPR principles: a clear notice on every call, encryption, EU storage, export and deletion in the app, and a list of every provider. Our legal documents are still being reviewed by counsel ahead of our EU launch, so check the policy for the current status.
