Follow-up email after a phone call: templates that work
The follow-up email turns a phone call into a record both sides can point to. Send it the same day, keep it short, and repeat exactly what was agreed. Here are seven templates you can copy.
Updated October 2026.
What a good follow-up email includes
- Thanks, in one line. No paragraphs about how great the call was.
- What was agreed, in their words where possible. Prices, quantities and dates exactly as said.
- What you'll do, and by when.
- What you're waiting on from them. Polite, specific, with a date.
Send it within a few hours. The longer you wait, the more the two memories of the call drift apart.

The hardest part of a follow-up is remembering the exact price and date that were said. Dimts records the call with a consent notice, picks out what was agreed, what you owe and what you're waiting on, and drafts this email for you, ready to send by email, WhatsApp or Telegram.
